PPA DELIVERS ASSISTANCE TO THOUSANDS OF STRANDED PASSENGERS; RECORDS 1.7M TRAVELERS DURING UNDAS 2025

PPA ensured safe and orderly operations with 1.7 million passengers during Undas 2025 despite adverse weather conditions.

06 NOVEMBER 2025 – The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) successfully concluded its nationwide “Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Undas 2025” with a total of 1,721,200 passengers recorded across all ports from October 27 to November 5, 2025.

The figure is lower than the projected 2.2 million travelers after several trips were cancelled due to adverse weather conditions brought by Super Typhoon Tino which affected sea travel in various parts of the country during the long weekend.

Despite the disruptions, port operations remained orderly and efficient. Passengers temporarily stranded due to trip cancellations were immediately assisted by PPA personnel through the distribution of Ready-to-Eat Food (RTEF) boxes, assistance in evacuation, and continuous information support through Help Desks.

“All our port personnel were on full alert during the entire Undas period despite the challenges posed by the typhoon, our priority was to provide efficient and compassionate service, especially during peak and typhoon travel seasons, no major challenge was recorded other than the effects of typhoon,” said PPA General Manager Jay Santiago.

All PPA-managed ports nationwide maintained full manpower deployment and suspended staff leaves during the operation. Port coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) ensured passenger safety and uninterrupted operations.

Among the ports with the highest passenger traffic were PMO Panay/Guimaras (300,133), PMO Davao (173,418), PMO Batangas (147,671), PMO Bohol (125,345), and PMO Negros Oriental/Siquijor (112,956).

As part of its commitment to public safety and service continuity, the PPA ensured that all ports under its jurisdiction remained open and operational to accommodate stranded passengers and resume normal trips as soon as weather conditions improved.
