PPA BUDGET UTILIZATION RISES TO 83% IN 2022

07 MAY 2023, MANILA — Committed to providing modern, sustainable and resilient port infrastructures and facilities throughout the country, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) posts 83% budget utilization rate (BUR) in 2022, the highest in the previous years despite the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 83% rate shows that PPA was able to maximize and implement responsible usage of its corporate budget with a huge increase in budget utilization rate comparing it from 71% in 2021 and 62% in 2020.

25 ABRIL 2023, MAYNILA — Nagsagawa ng surprise drug test ang mga kawani ng Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) nitong ika-18 ng Abril taong 2023 bilang pagtalima sa umiiral na PPA Memorandum Order 04-2016 o ang “Drug Free Workplace Policy” na naglalayong magkaroon ng maayos, malinis, at malayo sa droga na mga opisina ng PPA.

Negatibo ang lahat ng humigit kumulang liman-daang empleyado ng PPA mula sa Head Office, Port Management Office (PMO) ng NCR- North at PMO NCR- South.

PPA EXPLAINS DIGITALIZATION PLANS AND PORT CHARGES TO SENATE

12 APRIL 2023, MANILA — The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) explained the importance of globalization and the significance of lowering logistics costs within the country’s ports during the Senate Public Services Committee inquiry, headed by its chairperson Senator Grace Poe.

PPA GM Jay Santiago was able to answer queries about PPA’s digitalization plans, debunked the claim of having a duplicate system with another government agency and the need to lower logistics costs.

30 MARCH 2023, MANILA — The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is now implementing its "No Leave Policy" and "Full Manpower" directive from General Manager Jay Santiago during this Holy Week in preparation for the expected influx of passengers.

The issued memorandum in lieu of said directive is effective from April 3 to April 10, 2023 from which the personnel are expected to cater to the needs of thousands of passengers this Lenten season. According to PPA GM Jay Santiago, this order covers all personnel including PPA’s frontline services on duty.  

World-Class Terminal at Pinakamalaking Passenger Terminal Building sa Pilipinas, Binuksan na sa Publiko

27 MARSO 2023, CALAPAN — Matapos ang matagumpay na inagurasyon ng Port Operations Building (POB) ng Masbate at Coron kamakailan ay binuksan na rin sa publiko ang pinaka malaking Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) sa buong bansa na matatagpuan sa Calapan Port, Oriental Mindoro ngayong araw, ika-27 ng Marso 2023.

Ang mas pinalaki, pinaganda at modernong PTB ng Port of Calapan ay makapagbibigay serbisyo na sa nasa 3,500 na pasahero anumang oras mula sa dating kapasidad ng lumang terminal na nasa 1,600 lamang.

Bagong Port Operations Building at Transit Shed sa Port of Masbate, pinasinayaan na ng PPA

08 MARSO 2023, MASBATE — Pormal ng binuksan sa publiko ng Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) ang bagong Port Operations Building (POB) at Transit Shed nito sa Port of Masbate ngayong araw, ika-8 ng Marso 2023.

Mula sa dati nitong kapasidad na kaya lamang makapag serbisyo sa 100 na pasahero, kaya na ng bagong POB na maserbisyuhan ang mahigit na 500 pasahero anumang oras, higit na limang beses na mas malaki kumpara sa kapasidad ng lumang passenger terminal building sa pantalan.

ARTA GREEN LIGHTS TOP-CRMS

05 MARCH 2023, MANILA — After careful consideration and series of reviews, PPA Administrative Order (AO) No. 04-2021 or the “Policy on the Registration and Monitoring of Containers” of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and its Implementing Operating Guidelines gets a greenlight from the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA). 

PPA was able to submit to ARTA the regulatory impact statement of the Trusted Operator Program- Container Registry and Monitoring System (TOP-CRMS) on February 2, 2023 and after a month, ARTA has given it a rating of 36- "Good Practice RIS”.
