02 FEBRUARY 2026 – The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) have committed to fast-tracking port improvements after top officials, led by Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez and PPA General Manager Jay Santiago, conducted on-site inspections to personally assess passenger experience and port operations.

16 JANUARY 2026 – The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is set to further strengthen the nation’s maritime trade and connectivity in 2026, following a robust performance in 2025 that saw total cargo throughput reach 308.5 million metric tons, a 6.6 percent increase from 2024. This milestone underscores the vital role of Philippine ports in driving trade, supporting local industries, and connecting communities across the archipelago.

06 JANUARY 2026 — The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) logged a record-breaking volume of passenger traffic during the Christmas and New Year holiday peak, recording 6,281,052 passengers nationwide from December 15, 2025 to January 5, 2026, the highest since the agency’s establishment in 1974 and a new milestone in domestic sea travel demand.

29 December 2025 — The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has recorded a significant improvement in traffic flow and logistics efficiency following the implementation of coordinated infrastructure, operational, and traffic management measures to address the build-up of cargo vehicles resulting from the load limit imposed on the San Juanico Bridge from May 16 to December 12, 2025.

22 DISYEMBRE 2025 — Mismong si PPA General Manager Jay Santiago ang bumungad sa mga pasahero ng Batangas Port ngayong  Disyembre 22, 2025, ilang araw bago magpasko upang tiyakin ang maayos at ligtas na byahe mga pasaherong uuwi sa probinsya at mga magbabakasyon sa long weekend.

16 DECEMBER 2025 -- The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has announced during its year end press conference the intensified security measures across all PPA controlled and managed ports nationwide in preparation for the expected surge of passengers and cargo during the 2025 Christmas holiday rush starting December 15, 2025.
