PPA Puerto Princesa Bags the City’s

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) Port Management Office (PMO) of Puerto Princesa was recently named as the “Cleenest and Greenest” among all the government offices in Puerto Princesa City when it bagged the 2nd Place in the City’s “Oplan Linis Program – Clean and Green Project”. PPA Puerto Princesa Port Manager Engineer Adelaida Hernandez received the award during the 139th Foundation anniversary of the City from the Oplan Linis Project Director Mrs. Ellen Hagedorn and the City Mayor Edward S. Hagedorn. “The Clean and Green Project is an on-going program sponsored by the City government’s OPLAN LINIS PROJECT, to help promote environmental health and awareness in all sectors of society, “ PM Hernandez added. The said environmental program of the City government evaluated all the private and government institutions and offices within the city. The coveted first (1st) place award was bagged by a private company company, the DELTA P Incorporated and the second prize was awarded to PPA Puerto Princesa, thus making the PMO, the cleanest and greenest among all the government institutions/organizations in Puerto Princesa City. PM Hernandez furthered that PMO Puerto Princesa has been continually improving, maintaining its greening and beautification projects within the confines of the port zone not only because they are aiming for the best in the city for both the government and private companies/institutions but because of the PMOs continuing desire to promote a healthy environment and communities as well. She said that the “clean and green program I part and parcel of its “Puerto Gwapo Project” which was started by then PMO Puerto Princesa Manager Luis A. Cuison. Within the PMO Compound, one can find a herbal and vegetable gardens being maintained by PMO employees while in the area of the container yards and the Port Integrated Clearance Office (PICO) and the Passenger Terminal Building, one can find variety of plants being maintained and taken care of by Lessees in their respective areas of responsibility in compliance with the terms and conditions in their Permit to Occupy prescribed specifically by PMO Puerto Princesa. |
