PORT FACILITIES
Medical Facilities:
Hospitals and clinics
are available within the City Proper. The Palawan
Adventist Hospital, the Puerto Princesa Provincial Hospital, and the
Palawan Cooperative
Hospital are the three hospitals in the City. There are
also the Saver’s
Clinic, and the Palawan Medical City attending to the
medical needs of the
populace.
Other Available Port Facilities:
Parking area measuring
3, 187 square meters. PICO (Port Integrated
Clearance Office) Bldg. housing other government agencies with port
clearing functions.
Unpaved back up area (reclaimed) measuring 5,767.46 square meters used
up by shippers/packers.

CARGO HANDLING SERVICES
Arrastre/Stevedoring:
Prudential Customs
Brokerage Services, Inc. (PCBSI) provides the cargo handling services
at the Port of Puerto
Princesa. (10-year management contract, 2007-2016)
Warehousing:
There are two
warehouses for common use at the operational area.
Container Yard:
Shipping companies are
renting concreted areas at the port used as container yards.
Trucking/Hauling Services:
There are trucks
providing hauling services, but most of the port users have their own
vehicles used for hauling their own cargoes.
Porterage:
Porterage service is also provided by the cargo handling
contractor,

SERVICES FOR PASSENGERS, SHIPPERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC
Passenger Terminal Building:
The PTB has an area of
420 square meters. It has 4 air conditioning units, a child care
station, a massage
corner, public phone units, 2 television sets, and can accommodate
300 passengers at one time.
Passenger Assistance Service System Building:
Area is 429.00 square
meters. A two-storey open structure housing the canteen and
used as holding area for passengers and
well-wishers.
Vehicle Parking Area:
There is a designated
parking area beside the PTB and the PPA Admin. Bldg. Area is
3, 187.00 square
meters.
Booking/Freight Forwarding:
There are several cargo forwarders in the City.
Booking and freight forwarding are also
serviced by shipping agencies.
Banking Services:
There are many local
banks in the City (please see Directory of Services)
Telecommunication Services:
Smart,
Globe and Sun Cellular mobile phone companies have cell sites in the
City.
PLDT/Piltel,
Globe RCPI provide telephone, telegram and telefax services.
There are three
internet providers such as Kawing, Moscom, and DSL.
Airport:
The city has one international airport, and
it is about 3 km from the port. (est. 5-8
minutes ride
Other Passenger Services:
There is one designated
terminal for buses, shuttle vans, and jeepneys for passengers going
to northern and southern Palawan. It is situated at the New Public Market
at Bgy. San Jose,
Puerto
Princesa City.
